Frequently asked questions

How do I book a trip?

Open the Trips tab, choose where you are leaving from and where you are going, and tap a trip. Pick your seat, confirm, and pay. Your ticket appears in the app right away.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay with your debit or credit card, a bank transfer, or USSD through our payment partners Paystack and Monnify. Payment is required to confirm a booking.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Paystack and Monnify, who are licensed payment providers. VarsityRide never sees or stores your full card details.

Where is my ticket?

Your ticket is in the app on the Bookings tab and on your home screen. It shows your route, seat, booking reference, and passenger details. Show it to the driver when you board.

How does live tracking work?

Once your trip starts, open the ticket and tap Track ride. You will see your bus move on the map and can call your driver in one tap. If the GPS signal drops, you can still reach the driver by phone.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes. You can cancel a booking from the Bookings tab, and refunds are approved by our team. Our standard policy is: 100 percent refund minus a processing fee if you cancel 4 or more days before the trip, 70 percent if you cancel less than 4 days before, and 50 percent if you cancel within 48 hours of departure.

I did not get my verification code.

Verification codes are sent by email and can take a minute to arrive. Check your spam folder, then tap Resend. Codes expire after 10 minutes for your security. If it still does not arrive, email us and we will help.

How do emergency contacts work?

You can add a parent, sibling, or friend as an emergency contact and choose to share a trip with them. When your bus sets off, they receive a live link so they can follow your journey.

Can I book the whole vehicle?

On trips where private booking is available, you can request the entire vehicle for your group. A member of our team confirms private bookings, usually within 24 hours.
