This Privacy Policy explains how VarsityRide ("VarsityRide", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and related services. By using VarsityRide, you agree to the practices described here.
When you create an account we collect your email address, password (stored in encrypted, hashed form), full name, and phone number. As a student you may also provide your matriculation number and the name and phone number of a guardian or emergency contact.
When you book a trip we collect details of that booking, including the route, your pickup and drop off points, your selected seat, the names of passengers you book for, and your booking reference.
Payments are processed by our payment partners Paystack and Monnify. We receive a payment status and a transaction reference for your booking. We do not collect or store your full card number or bank details.
To power live trip tracking, we process the location of the vehicle on your trip. If you grant the permission, your device location may be used to show the map and nearby points. You can control location permission in your device settings.
We collect a notification token so we can send you push notifications, along with basic device and usage information that helps us operate and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain records, such as transaction history, for longer where the law requires it. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time.
We protect your information with industry standard measures, including encryption of data in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you can withdraw consent for optional features such as location sharing. To make a request, email us at the address below.
VarsityRide is intended for university students and other adult travellers. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of VarsityRide after a change means you accept the updated policy.
